Unlimited eSIM for Vietnam
Every unlimited plan sold for Vietnam has a daily ceiling. Two brands print theirs on the product page and two do not. Here is the table nobody selling these wants to publish.
What "unlimited" means on each Vietnam plan the caps in one table

If you want unlimited, buy the one that prints both numbers. Airalo says 3GB a day and 1 Mbps after it, so you know in advance what a heavy day looks like.

If the daily cap is the real allowance, then the honest price is the plan price divided by the full-speed data it guarantees, not by infinity.

Cost per usable gigabyte assumes you actually hit the daily cap every single day, which almost nobody does. That is the point of the next section. Prices checked September 4, 2026.
On paper Saily's 30-day unlimited is the cheapest per guaranteed gigabyte on the list, at 48 cents, because 5GB a day for thirty days is a very large number. Whether you will use 150GB in a month in Vietnam is a different question, and for almost every traveler the answer is no.
For most Vietnam trips a fixed plan is cheaper and this is the whole argument
Two weeks of ordinary use in Vietnam, photos and stories included, is about 10GB. Two weeks of heavy use with a laptop on hotspot is about 22GB. Now compare what you would pay.

Unlimited in Vietnam is not a value product. It is an insurance product, and you buy it when the cost of misjudging your usage is higher than twenty or thirty dollars.
The cases where that is genuinely true: you are working remotely and a dead hotspot costs you a client call; you are streaming to a laptop from a hotel with bad wifi; or you simply do not want to think about it, which is a legitimate reason to spend money on holiday.
The two fixed plans that make almost every unlimited plan pointless: Yesim's 30GB at $32.56 (read our Trustpilot flag first) and Airalo's 50GB at $49.00, which is 98 cents a gigabyte.

Airalo, if you want predictability
3GB a day, then 1 Mbps, both printed. You know exactly what a heavy day looks like before you buy, and 1 Mbps is genuinely usable for maps and messaging rather than a disconnection.
$11.50 for three days, $69.00 for thirty. It also happens to be the brand that publishes its Vietnamese network, VNPT.
Saily, if you want the biggest allowance
5GB a day is the largest published cap for Vietnam, and Saily has the best support record here, 4.7 from 30,537 Trustpilot reviews.
The unknown is what happens after 5GB, because Saily does not print the throttled speed. Buy it for the 5GB, not for the word unlimited.
Holafly is the third option and we earn nothing from it. It is the only plan on this page with no published daily cap at all on phone data, which is a genuine advantage if you take the fair-use text at face value. Questions on unlimited plans
Is there a truly unlimited eSIM for Vietnam?
Not among the brands we can verify. Airalo caps at 3GB a day and then throttles to 1 Mbps, Saily caps at 5GB a day, GigSky sells honest 3.5GB-a-day packs, and Holafly and Yesim decline to publish a number at all. Holafly's phone data is the closest thing to uncapped, and its hotspot is limited to 1GB a day.
What is the cheapest unlimited eSIM for Vietnam?
Yesim's 30-day unlimited at $66.28, which is also the one with no published cap and a suspended Trustpilot score. Among plans that tell you what you are buying, Airalo's 30-day at $69.00 is the cheapest with a printed cap.
Do I need unlimited data in Vietnam?
Almost certainly not. Two weeks of ordinary use including photos and stories is about 10GB, which costs $16.79 as a fixed GigSky plan against roughly $49 for a comparable unlimited window. Buy unlimited as insurance against your own uncertainty, not as a saving.
What happens when I hit the daily cap?
On Airalo the speed drops to 1 Mbps until midnight, which still carries maps, messaging and standard-definition video. On Saily the speed drops to a figure the company does not publish. On Holafly and Yesim there is no published cap, so there is no published answer.
Can I hotspot on an unlimited Vietnam plan?
On Airalo and Saily, yes, and the tethered data counts against the same daily cap. On Holafly, hotspot is separately limited to 1GB per day regardless of what the phone itself uses, which is the single most important line in its terms if you travel with a laptop.
Is Vietnam a country where unlimited makes sense?
Less than most. Wifi in Vietnam is genuinely everywhere and genuinely free, in cafes, hotels, restaurants and even on some buses, which pushes real cellular usage down. The place unlimited earns its price is not the cities but a long working stay somewhere the accommodation wifi is unreliable.
