The one we do not earn from
Holafly in Vietnam
Holafly sells unlimited data on Vinaphone and publishes no daily ceiling for phone use. It also caps your hotspot at 1GB a day. Both of those matter more than the price.

The Holafly Vietnam plans USD, checked September 2026
Holafly sells one product for Vietnam: unlimited data, priced by duration. There are no fixed-gigabyte plans.
| Duration | Price | Per day | What a fixed plan costs instead |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 days | $11.90 | $3.97 | GigSky 3.5GB/day for 3 days: $10.49 |
| 5 days | $20.50 | $4.10 | GigSky 5GB / 30 days: $10.29 |
| 7 days | $27.50 | $3.93 | GigSky 10GB / 30 days: $16.79 |
| 10 days | $36.50 | $3.65 | GigSky 10GB / 30 days: $16.79 |
| 15 days | $50.50 | $3.37 | Yesim 20GB / 30 days: $25.58 |
| 30 days | $73.90 | $2.46 | Airalo 50GB / 30 days: $49.00 |
Every plan also includes what Holafly calls Always On: 1GB of backup data a month at no cost. Read the right-hand column before anything else. On a two-week trip Holafly costs roughly double a fixed plan that covers realistic usage, and the gap only narrows at thirty days.
What Holafly’s fair-use text actually says the only unlimited here without a daily number
Holafly does not publish a daily gigabyte allowance for Vietnam, and unlike Yesim, that appears to be a genuine position rather than an omission. What its policy does say is that the local network operator may apply a fair usage throttle, and that such a throttle is temporary, applied for no more than one day at a time, and lifts the following day.
| Brand | Daily cap on phone data | What happens after |
|---|---|---|
| Holafly | none published | Operator may throttle for up to one day, then it resets. |
| Saily | 5GB/day | Throttled to an unpublished speed. |
| GigSky | 3.5GB/day | The cap is the plan; nothing is branded unlimited. |
| Airalo | 3GB/day | 1 Mbps until midnight. Both numbers published. |
| Yesim | none published | Unstated, and no policy figure given. |
So on phone data specifically, Holafly is the most permissive plan sold for Vietnam, and it is the honest place to say so. If you are going to watch a lot of video on a phone over cellular for a month, this is the product designed for you.
The 1GB hotspot ceiling is the line that decides it read this before the price
For a phone-only traveler this is irrelevant. For anybody carrying a laptop it is decisive, because a working day on hotspot is 1.5 to 2.5GB, which means Holafly runs out of shareable data before lunch every day of your trip.
Compare: Saily allows tethering with no separate hotspot cap, drawing from the same 5GB daily allowance. Airalo does the same against its 3GB. GigSky's fixed plans have no hotspot restriction at all. If hotspotting is why you are buying unlimited, Holafly is the one plan on this page that does not do it.
The unlimited comparison sets all four caps side by side, with the price per gigabyte you can actually use.
When Holafly is genuinely the right buy a narrow but real case
The case for it
You will watch a lot of video on your phone, over cellular, for weeks, and you do not want to think about a number.
You want a named network: Holafly publishes GPC Vinaphone, and only Airalo does the same.
You are staying thirty days, where $73.90 works out at $2.46 a day, the cheapest daily rate in its own ladder.
You have no laptop, so the 1GB hotspot ceiling costs you nothing.
The case against it
You have a laptop. The hotspot ceiling makes the plan unfit for the job.
You use a normal amount of data. Ten days at $36.50 against GigSky's 10GB at $16.79 is not close.
You want a number to plan around: Airalo prints 3GB a day and 1 Mbps.
You are going north: Vinaphone is Vinaphone, and the Ha Giang problem is unchanged. Buy Viettel as well.
If you want unlimited and you also want to hotspot, these are the two that let you: Airalo at 3GB a day with the throttle speed published, or Saily at 5GB a day, the largest published allowance for Vietnam. Both allow tethering against the same allowance.
See Airalo Unlimited See Saily Unlimited Compare all the capsOur verdict good product, wrong country to overpay in
Holafly does one thing better than anyone else selling Vietnam data: it does not put a daily number on phone data, and it tells you which network you are on. That is a real product and some people should buy it.
But Vietnam is a poor country in which to buy unlimited anything. Free wifi is close to universal, in cafes, hotels, restaurants and on buses, which pushes real cellular usage well below what people expect. Two weeks of ordinary use is around 10GB, and 10GB costs $16.79 as a fixed plan against $50.50 for fifteen Holafly days.
We earn nothing either way, so take this as it is meant: for most Vietnam trips this is the most expensive way to solve a problem you probably do not have.
Questions on Holafly in Vietnam
Which network does Holafly use in Vietnam?
GPC Vinaphone, part of VNPT, published on Holafly's own Vietnam page. That is the same operator Airalo names, and it is strong in the cities and along the coast and thin in the northern mountains.
Is Holafly really unlimited in Vietnam?
On phone data it is the closest thing on the market: no daily allowance is published, and the fair-use text only allows the local operator to throttle temporarily, for up to a day at a time. Tethering is a different story, and it is capped at 1GB per day.
Can I hotspot with Holafly in Vietnam?
Only 1GB per day, regardless of how much the phone itself uses. A working day on a laptop is 1.5 to 2.5GB, so if hotspotting is the point of the purchase, Saily or Airalo are the plans that actually allow it.
How much does Holafly cost for Vietnam?
$11.90 for three days, $27.50 for seven, $36.50 for ten, $50.50 for fifteen and $73.90 for thirty, all unlimited. Every plan includes 1GB of monthly backup data that Holafly calls Always On.
Is Holafly worth it for Vietnam?
For a phone-only traveler who will stream a lot over cellular for a month, yes. For everyone else, no: Vietnam has close to universal free wifi, ordinary two-week usage is about 10GB, and 10GB as a fixed plan costs $16.79 against $50.50 for fifteen Holafly days.
Why do you not link to Holafly?
Because we have no affiliate relationship with it, so there is no link to give you. We review it because it is the biggest unlimited brand in the category and omitting it would make our comparison table dishonest. Our disclosure is here.
Most Vietnam trips need 10GB, not unlimited
Two weeks of ordinary use in Vietnam is about 10GB, and free wifi covers a lot of the rest. GigSky sells 10GB for $16.79 over 30 days, against $50.50 for fifteen unlimited days. We do earn a commission on this one, and we would still buy it.
